Imagine reading „Around the World in 80 Days” in Spanish – and understanding every page

„Around the World in 80 Days” (in Spanish: „La vuelta al mundo en 80 días”, orig. Around the World in Eighty Day) by Jules Verne – is a complete, engaging story adapted specifically for the B2 (upper intermediate) level. You don't need to know every word. You'll understand 95% of the text immediately, and every new word is explained in the margin. You simply read – and learn naturally.

What is this book about?

  • Phileas Fogg wagers his fortune to circumnavigate the world in eighty days.
  • He faces numerous obstacles, including Detective Fix's pursuit, and rescues Aouda.
  • A desperate dash to London culminates in a last-minute discovery and triumphant victory.

Why does this work better than apps and textbooks?

Our books are based on the Pentecost Method – the only approach 100% based on scientific research into language learning. The result? You learn faster, remember more, and actually enjoy learning.

  • Read without interruption: Translations of the most difficult words are found in the margin of each page – you don't have to break away from the story to look them up in a dictionary.
  • Consolidate what you've read: After each chapter, there are exercises (crosswords, gap-fills, anagrams) tailored to the B2 level – new words stick in your mind.
  • Learn anywhere: A mobile app with games allows you to review vocabulary on your way to work, in line, or whenever you have a moment.
  • Build lasting vocabulary: Flashcards at the end of the book allow you to systematically review the most important words – so you don't forget what you've learned.

Matched to your exact level

Short review: good book, great glossary, unfussy exercises.

Bought on impulse and stayed with it. Readable - not too easy, not impossibly hard.

Lawrence 2026-01-29

One of the more sensible B2 materials I have tried. More practice than dry theory.

Ruth 2026-02-21

Spanish moved slowly for years - here it is concrete without filler. The glossary helps with trickier vocabulary.

Colin 2026-04-08

Not a pile of rules dumped at once. Small steps, visible improvement in comprehension.

About Spanish (the language of this book)

Where Spanish is spoken

Spanish (Castilian) is an official language in Spain and is spoken throughout Latin America. It is also an official language of Equatorial Guinea and is widely studied as a second language in the United States, Brazil, and Western Europe.

How many people speak it

About 500 million people speak Spanish as a first language; counts of all users including second-language speakers are often placed near 600 million.

Grammar and structure

Spanish is a mostly synthetic Romance language: verbs carry rich endings for person, tense, and mood; nouns and adjectives agree in gender (masculine/feminine) and number. Word order is flexible compared with English, with subject pronouns often omitted because the verb ending identifies the subject. Learners focus on ser vs. estar, the subjunctive, and object pronoun placement.
